What to get your girl

GRR lately guys have been asking me the “What can I get my girlfriend?” question. Before I answer that I have to tell you a few things.

  • 1. We, girls, are extremely greedy. If you have been going out with a girl for less than a year do not get her something big and expensive (unless you have the money to afford something bigger and better within the next few months).
  • 2. When you buy it get a gift receipt.

The traditional and classy gift is roses and box of chocolate. There is just one problem with that: the chocolate. Many guys do not get the point that you have to be really careful what brand they are, and how big the box is. Here is the problem: if you get your girlfriend a box that is too small, the first thing she thinks of is “Am I gaining weight? Is he trying to tell me something?” However, if you get her a box that is too big, she will wonder if you are trying to get her to gain weight. Neither case is good.

So here is the thing: if you have dated your girlfriend for less than a year get her something small like a stuffed animal (personal favorite), or the eyeliner she has been running out of and complaining about. You can also just take her out to dinner one day, doesn’t have to be an anniversary. If you have been with her for quite a while you can get perfume (better be a good one) or buy her tickets to her favorite band (this can also be used for guy gifts). Whatever you buy her be creative with it.
If you and your significant other have been together for a long time, open your wallet and spend a little more. Great things you can get her are jewelry, perfumes, a new cell phone or the best thing, just take her out and let her choose her gift. Chances are, she will end up picking out a purse. But you know, a girl can never have too many things :) .
